Crescent Down Works was founded by Anne Michelson in 1974 as a custom-order down vest company in Seattle, Washington. Inspired by her love of hiking, camping, and the outdoors, Anne applied her knowledge of down clothing manufacturing from her first job at Northwest outerwear company, Eddie Bauer, to her own design and style. Since those early days we have expanded from vests to a complete line of outerwear, all made in our factory in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood. All of our products are made-to-order; crafted with acute attention to detail and the highest quality materials. Crescent Down Works continues on as a family run business, committed to excellent quality and timeless style.
Who We Are
At Crescent Down Works we are proud to be a multi-generational family enterprise with long standing employees. Our head sewer, Thuan Huynh, has over 25 years experience leading the Crescent sewing team, and is a master of her craft. Cutting Room Director, Nora Strang Moore, and Production Manager, Annie Michelson, oversee daily operation of the factory. We are a dynamic team of women, dedicated to producing quality products from start to finish.
What We Do
After more than 40 years, manufacturing custom down clothing continues to be our primary focus. Our time-honored patterns are based on classic Northwest outerwear designs. Our jackets and vests are insulated with 100% high-grade white goose down. Please feel free contact us for more detailed information on how we source ethically harvested down. Our fabrics are selected for the best combination of durability and performance. Each piece is meticulously inspected by hand, ensuring the flawless quality we are known for.
Through the years we've had the pleasure of working in buildings that we own in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. In 2012 we moved the factory to a larger space in Pioneer Square to accommodate our growing team. We still make everything in-house in Seattle's most historic neighborhood.
